minerva was founded in 2023 to allow us to share our combined 60+ years of experience in business, product design, editing, content creation, teaching and the music equipment industry.
We are Trevor and Lisa Coley, former owners of British microphone brand Sontronics, an internationally renowned company for which Trevor designed award-winning microphones that have appeared on albums and live performances of some of the world's most talented artists, producers, engineers and composers, from Ed Sheeran and Adele to Aerosmith and Kings of Leon.

​Through running the Sontronics business and also in our previous careers, we've amassed know-how and expertise in various fields that we now want to share with businesses and educators like you.

Trevor
Trevor Coley is most well known for his Sontronics microphone brand, which he founded in 2004 and launched to the world at the 2005 NAMM Show. His unique sounding (and looking) mics have graced many a Grammy-winning album and Oscar-winning soundtrack, and his experience of bringing products to market is second to none.
He is experienced in consulting to and working with businesses, both established and start-ups, and is currently a careers and enterprise advisor and governor to three local schools.

Prior to Sontronics, Trevor also worked as international sales manager for mixing desk brand Soundcraft, ran an international distribution company, managed a music retail store, worked in music studios and played guitar in a band.

Lisa
Lisa Coley managed Sontronics alongside Trevor for almost 20 years, and she is well versed in all aspects of running an international company as well as establishing and growing a world-recognised brand. She is an excellent marketeer, experienced in branding, promotions and communications.
Her status as one of the world's only female owners of a music equipment brand led to Lisa being invited to join trade boards and to become an award-winning ambassador for female entrepreneurs.
Lisa spent many years as a magazine editor and writer, working for music and travel titles. She is an accomplished pianist and flautist and has tutored in languages as well piano/flute and so is unsurprisingly passionate about music education and teaching.
